date & cardamom porridge

for 1 serving:

1/2 cup (55g) oat flour or small-cut oats

pinch of cardamom

pinch of cinnamon

pinch of salt

3 dates, chopped

1 cup (250ml) liquid (plant milk/water)

caramelised apple:

1 apple, cut into slices

1 tsp coconut oil

pinch of sugar

toppings: nut butter, toasted cashews, cinnamon, flakey salt

method:

to a small pot, add the porridge ingredients. bring to a simmer and cook for 5-6 minutes until super thick. leave to sit covered (heat off) for a few minutes.

in the meantime, make the caramelised apple by frying the apple slices in coconut oil with sugar for a few minutes per side.

assemble with your desired toppings.
